The English Scrabble World Championship will be hosted at the Hilton
\nHotel in Warsaw October 12\u201316, 2011. As a new national association we
\nare entitled to send one contestant to the championship.<\/p>\n
The first round of the qualification will take place on June 5 at
\nMargit Hansens gate 5 in the Gr\u00f8nland neighbourhood of Oslo. The top
\nfour players in this tournament will advance to the second
\nqualification round. You may register by sending an email to \u00abenglish\u00bb
\nat scrabbleforbundet dot no. The deadline is 30 May; registrations
\nafter this date may be accepted at the discretion of the board of the
\nNorwegian Scrabble Association, depending on space. The tournament
\nwill be played according to WESPA\u2019s rules, and the dictionary used for
\nadjudication will be Collins Scrabble Tournament & Club Word List,
\nwhich is the same word list that will be used in the World
\nChampionship.<\/p>\n
For the tournament to count as a qualification tournament, it is
\nrequired that at least six players participate. If fewer than six
\nplayers show up, the tournament may still take place, but its result
\nwill have no bearing on the qualification process, and we may attempt
\nto organize a new qualification tournament on a later date.<\/p>\n
In order to be eligible as Norway\u2019s representative, you must either be
\na Norwegian citizen or be a registered resident of Norway in the
\nperiod October 1, 2010 until October 16, 2011.<\/p>\n
